With over 15 years-experience as a global medical affairs professional, Joy is uniquely poised to engage KOLs and medical experts to increase scientific awareness and clinical knowledge of products and clinical pipelines. She is well versed in preclinical and clinical research, certified medical education (CME), health economics, and global regulatory policies. Joy brings MDoutlook clients an extensive expertise across multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, hematology, cardiology, gastroenterology and rare diseases to provide strategic guidance for the identification of future market trends and competitive landscape assessments.

Joy leads the Clinical Content & Clinician Engagement team at MDoutlook. She initially joined MDoutlook in 2011 after completing her postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University’s School of Public Health. Prior to her return to MDoutlook in 2021, she spent 5 years as Director of Educational Development at Imedex, an accredited medical education company.

Joy has a diverse educational background and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College. A post-baccalaureate research internship in parasitology at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), inspired her to receive her Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology from the University of Georgia. As a pharmacologist, her research interests include evaluating the etiology and primary prevention of colon cancer, focusing on the roles of diet and physical activity, and emphasizing the use of biomarkers of risk and molecular epidemiologic methods in observational studies and clinical trials. In addition, she has spent a considerable amount of time investigating toxicology and environmental health issues with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). She resides in Atlanta, Georgia where she is an active member of ASCO, ESMO, AASLD and EASL.
